The Business Brain
Colix is The Business Brain — where your business's memory, judgment, and work
live as one intelligence. Free for individuals. Made for teams.
Why we built Colix
Most knowledge work today happens across four apps that don't know about each other. A document lives in one place, the task list in another, the conversation about both in a third, and the file you actually need is somewhere else entirely.
We built Colix because we wanted one home for our notes, our tasks, our messages, and the AI that helps us along the way — without losing context every time we switched.
Colix is the workspace we always wanted. One calm place to think, plan, and ship — alone or with a team.
What we believe
These aren't slogans. They're commitments we hold ourselves to — the kind that take an executive sign-off to change.
No streaks to break. No notifications you didn't ask for. No red dots that don't mean anything. When you open Colix, you see your work — not us trying to keep you here. Sustained calm-positive is our brand axis, not a marketing line.
We don't train AI on your notes. We don't sell your data. Your messages aren't read by humans on our side. You can export everything as Markdown, JSON, or PDF at any time. If we go away tomorrow, your work doesn't.
AI in Colix suggests — it doesn't apply. Every change is yours to accept or reject. We never auto-apply AI changes to a teammate's tasks, a shared document, or anyone else's calendar. Failed first attempts don't cost you a quota. The cursor is always in your hand.
Whether you're writing alone, running a five-person startup, or coordinating a two-hundred-person org, you're using the same Colix. Same editor, same blocks, same shortcuts. We don't fork the product into 'Personal' and 'Business' versions that drift apart over time. The audience changes. The foundation doesn't.

Your content isn't a training set
Defaults change with notice, not in the dark
Markdown, JSON, PDF — anytime
Slash, /, ⌘K — built for fluency
Designed for the desk, companion on mobile
Quiet hours, batched alerts, no nags
Where we're going
Notes, tasks, projects, messaging, and AI assistance, all under one roof.
Multi-cursor editing built on a CRDT foundation. One focused migration — not a piecemeal bolt-on.
AI that runs on your device for sensitive workflows. The models change. The agency covenant doesn't.
The roadmap will change. The four commitments above won't.
Common questions
Every piece of feedback that comes in is read by the team. Product priorities are published on the changelog and the public roadmap. Substantive feedback gets a substantive reply.
On servers Colix operates, encrypted in transit and at rest. You can export everything as Markdown, JSON, or PDF at any time. Your data stays in standard, portable formats.
No. AI training on your content is permanently off. Changing this would require Legal and CEO sign-off — and even then, only with your explicit, opt-in consent. It's a covenant, not a setting we might quietly flip.
For individuals, the scattered mix of note apps, to-do lists, and bookmark folders. For teams, the combination of a docs tool, a task tracker, a chat app, and an internal wiki. One workspace, several jobs.
Teams pay a workspace subscription that includes AI. Individuals get the full app free — AI is the paid add-on. That way the rest of the product stays free without ads, data sales, or a watered-down free tier.
Not today. Your data formats are open — blocks are JSON, text is Markdown — but the application itself is proprietary. Some components may open up over time.
Today, only one person edits a page at a time. Multi-cursor real-time editing is in active development and will land as a focused migration, not as a piecemeal bolt-on.
